Tom Volf: Chairman of the Maria Callas Endowment Fund

Through her work for Maria by Callas, Tom Volf discovers unique documents on Maria Callas - Super 8 films, rare recordings, personal letters - entrusted to us by relatives and institutions, as treasures to be passed on. 

Aware of the importance of preserving and sharing this heritage for future generations, Tom founds the Maria Callas Endowment Fund. 

As Chairman, he is committed to preserving and disseminating the artistic and personal legacy of this icon, ensuring that his aura continues to shine far beyond the stage.

2017

The Maria Callas Endowment Fund was created on the initiative of friends and family of the artist and her favourite conductor Georges Prêtre. It was decided to appoint Tom Volf as chairman alongside the founding members.

2017 - 2018

The Endowment Fund is presenting a new exhibition on the life of Maria Callas at La Seine Musicale in Paris. The exhibition offers innovative immersive experiences and has welcomed over thirty thousand visitors in three months. The exhibition will travel from Paris to Monaco, where it will be opened by HSH Prince Albert II. Tom Volf's first two books on Callas are published: Maria by Callas (éditions Assouline), and Callas Confidential (éditions La Martinière).

2019

Tom Volf has published his third book, "Maria Callas: Lettres & Mémoires" (Albin Michel).

2019 - 2023

A theatrical production adapted from the book Maria Callas: Lettres & Mémoires premiered with Monica Bellucci in Paris at the Théatre Marigny. The show has been presented in the United States, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain and Turkey.

2022

The Maria Callas Endowment Fund joins the European Music Centre, Europe's largest network for music.

2023

The Maria Callas Endowment Fund is celebrating the artist's centenary with a number of events and the cinema release of the film "Callas, Paris 1958", restored using master tapes from the archives.
